CPU

The Central Processing Unit (CPU) represents the brains of a PC. From an architectural point of view, a CPU is usually composed of few cores (on the contrary of a GPU), with lots of cache memory. In terms of capacity, a CPU is less powerful than a GPU, being able to handle only a few software threads at a time. CPUs are good for serial processing.
