Barcelona, Spain. October 14, 2024. – Submer, in collaboration with Castrol and Supermicro, will showcase its targeted flow immersion cooling technology, integrated into the high-end ARS-111GL-DNHR-LCC AI server system. This innovative solution will be on display at the OCP Global Summit and SC24, highlighting its capabilities in high-performance computing environments.
The Technology Behind Targeted Flow Immersion Cooling
The ARS-111GL-DNHR-LCC system features two nodes within a single 1U chassis, each equipped with NVIDIA Grace Hopper™ Superchips – comprising both the Grace CPU and the H100 GPU –delivering a total thermal design power (TDP) of 1000W per node. This configuration is designed to meet the intense demands of modern AI applications while ensuring optimal thermal management through immersion cooling.
“We’re excited to join forces with Castrol and Supermicro to deliver a breakthrough in high-power chip cooling. The Submer targeted flow solution is engineered to support chips far exceeding the 1000W TDP mark, while maintaining unmatched energy efficiency and sustainability, setting a new standard for the future of AI infrastructure.”
Daniel Pope, Founder & CTO, Submer
Submer’s targeted flow immersion cooling technology has been tested and approved with advanced Castrol ON DC-20 fluid, which offers high fluid stability and strong electrical characteristics.
“Building on Castrol’s 125 years of expertise in co-engineering solutions tailored to customer needs, we are looking to co-develop proven and reliable products to deliver liquid cooling technologies for the IT industry. It’s great to be able to demonstrate the Targeted Flow Technology for High-End AI with high TDP servers alongside our key partners: Submer and Supermicro.”
Peter Huang, Global Vice President – Data Centre & Thermal Management, Castrol
Supermicro’s expertise in server design and integration will play a crucial role in bringing targeted flow immersion cooling to enterprise-level deployments, setting a new standard for AI infrastructure.
“We are very pleased to collaborate with Submer and the adoption of this emerging technology. All these activities follow Supermicro’s company strategy of promoting Green computing and reducing the total cost of ownership of data centers. Supermicro continues to lead the AI global market and we are looking to continue growing together with Submer and their leading product.”
