In the agreement, Submer’s range of liquid cooling and edge-ready solutions will be available for a wide range of Hypertec platforms.
The impact of the Submer and Hypertec partnership
The partnership will allow Submer to accelerate its growth strategy, which aims to make Immersion Cooling technology mainstream within the data center industry through modular, high-powered immersion tanks known as SmartPods. From a customer perspective, it gives the opportunity to purchase Submer’s industry-leading technology from an end-to-end global technology provider. From edge ready rack mount servers to custom made GPU servers, Hypertec has the expertise and scale to provide turnkey, integrated solutions.
Thanks to the partnership, Submer’s complete portfolio of modular, Immersion-powered pods will be available to purchase from Hypertec.
It is clear that data centers are a necessity for modern society. With the market set to grow to $104 billion dollars by 2026 and daily data consumption at an all-time high, it is no longer something that can be ignored. As a result, the industry is under immense pressure from a number of key market players to ensure they are operating as sustainably and efficiently as possible. One of the ways this can be achieved is by adopting Immersion Cooling. Immersion cooling is the practice of submerging computer components (or full servers) in a thermally, but not electrically, conductive liquid (dielectric coolant). Immersion cooling offers data centers the ability to keep up with the increasing demand for higher power density along with many other advantages such as: A reduction in CO2 levels, power usage and better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Additionally, liquid cooling offers protection from the surrounding environment which could damage the hardware.
How will Submer help Hypertec achieve their goal?
Submer has built a range of immersion cooling modular solutions that empower users to effortlessly scale their operations while simultaneously saving space and energy and increasing compute capacity.
Submer’s SmartPodX and SmartPodXL solutions have been designed both to adhere to the classic 19” standards or easily adapted to meet Open Compute (OCP) standards depending on customer needs. The SmartPod range is compact, with >100kW dissipation capacity and a 1.03 PUE. Accommodating 21” Open Compute and/or 19” HW and a flexible busbar system supporting multi-zone 12v & 48v configurations.
Submer’s newest technology, the MicroPod will also be available to purchase from Hypertec. The MicroPod incorporates Submer’s industry-leading technologies with a compact, modular, plug-and-play, configuration that allows for fast deployment in any location, including direct sunlight and an easy plug-and-play installation with an unrivaled energy footprint.
The partnership will enable Hypertec and its broad line of customized Intel and AMD-based platforms to be immersed in Submer’s cooling technology. This will provide Submer and Hypertec customers the flexibility to find the perfect hardware fit to solve critical business issues and run all of them in the most energy-efficient manner possible. Hypertec will be providing full support and warranty for immersed systems, thus also delivering peace of mind to anybody wishing to roll out the technology.
